Sharon Borntrager
Director of Counseling and Support

Sharon Borntrager began her career with the National Coalition in 2001 after a 16-year tenure at Cincinnati Christian University.  She currently serves as the Director of Counseling and Support.  She has lead spouse support groups and is experienced in teaching and speaking before professionals and individuals.

Sharon is responsible for managing the HelpLine by providing resources, information and materials to individuals whose lives have been harmed by pornography, sex addiction, sexual abuse, and domestic violence.  She also offers Christian counseling, crisis intervention, and referrals to specialized therapists, groups, or pastors in cities around the country.  She also has resources for those who call from out of the country or an isolated location.  In addition, Sharon monitors the National Coalition’s online pornography assessment and survey.

As a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, Sharon is able to network with and locate other trained professionals in the field of sexual addiction/compulsivity, expanding her national database of counselors who can serve as referrals to HelpLine callers. She is also a member of Chi Sigma Iota, a counseling and academic professional honor society, as well as a member of the American Association of Certified Christian Sexual Addiction Specialists, Inc.  She maintains the title of Certified Pastoral Sexual Addiction Specialist.   

Sharon received a Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies and a Master of Arts in Practical Ministries from Cincinnati Christian University.  She has been confirmed by the membership of Whitewater Crossing Christian Church into the Christian Counseling Ministry.  She also is the pre-marital counselor at her church.

In her free time, Sharon volunteers at her church and the Eve Center for Women's Ministries, where she participates as an advisory board member.  She also enjoys reading.
