What Every Parent Needs To Know

The National Coalition for the Protection of Children & Families is pleased to announce the release of an exciting new booklet series entitled What Every Parent Needs to Know About.

“God has given parents an important responsibility in raising their kids, but He also offers His power and His presence in helping us undertake the task,” says Rick Schatz, president and CEO of the National Coalition.

“The messages of our sexualized culture are delivered to youth in new and unprecedented ways which can often be overwhelming. But despite the challenge, parents must become educated and diligent in talking with their kids about sex and leading them to lives of sexual purity,” added Schatz.

And helping parents become educated, informed and thus better equipped is both the message and the mission of the new booklet series. Below are excerpts from each of the four booklets:

• Look for teachable moments rather than the one time lecture about sex.
  
• Set high expectations without compromise about purity and righteousness.
  
• Be clear that God’s truth applies in all circumstances for all people. Your kids are not an exception and as they violate God’s rules, inevitable consequences will follow.
  

Wireless Technology & Mobile Entertainment

Take Action Against the Threat

• Parents must become educated on the issue of wireless technology and mobile entertainment before they can protect their children.
  
• Set clear and understandable boundaries with your children as they begin to use wireless devices and portable gaming systems.
  
• Parents much remain the ultimate authority in their children’s entertainment selections.
  
• Be aware of how your children are using their wireless technology. As parents, you may be held legally or otherwise responsible for their actions.
