National Coalition Featured on New Debate Website
Always up for a good debate? Then join with the National Coalition as it debates some of the hottest social issues of the day on the newly launched website, Opposing Views. National Coalition experts have been enlisted by editors of Opposing Views to weigh in on serious matters affecting children and families, such as pornography, prostitution, and condom distribution. The goal of the website is to provide a venue where “experts go head-to-head on real-life concerns, debating news and events, addressing the questions that keep you up at night,” and we are taking full advantage of the platform. The National Coalition has already garnered national media attention due to its contributions to Opposing Views. The New York Times “Bits Blog,” in its article An Alternative to the Glut of Opinions Online, notes that “a porn star and member of the National Coalition for the Protection of Children & Families debate whether pornography harms the country.” “We are encouraged that Opposing Views is fostering online discussion concerning controversial issues to which many in our nation turn a blind eye,” said Rick Schatz, president and CEO of the National Coalition. “As the truth about pornography and prostitution is unveiled, we hope people will begin to think critically about these issues and take action to bring about change,” added Schatz.
