
NATIONAL COALITION LEADERS TO MEET WITH ATTORNEY GENERAL AND FCC CHAIRMAN
Please be in prayer for Jerry Kirk, founder and chairman of the National Coalition for the Protection of Children & Families, and Rick Schatz, president and CEO of the organization, as they meet with new Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and incoming Federal Communications Commission Chairman Kevin Martin on May 23. Kirk and Schatz join high-level religious leaders from the Religious Alliance Against Pornography to offer support and encouragement to Gonzales and Martin.
MTV's GAY PROGRAMMING CHANNEL DEBUTS IN JUNE
Viacom, the largest owner of cable networks in the nation, announced its plan last year to unveil a network aimed primarily at lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender viewers. Although the launch of the advertiser-supported network named Logo was delayed four months, the programming is officially scheduled to debut on June 30, 2005.

EXOTIC DANCERS TO WEAR ID BADGES
In the name of protection through identification, the city of San Antonio has reached an agreement with local topless clubs on a new provision in their SOB regulations -- dancers will be required to wear ID badges, but the city compromised on the amount of information to be listed on the badge itself. Considered to be model legislation that other communities will adopt quickly, the badge requirement is good policy, but probably not good for business!

UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST TO CONSIDER SAME-SEX MARRIAGE
Hopefully the United Church of Christ will use biblical authority and not cultural conditions to make its determination on a resolution condoning same-sex marriages that delegates at their annual convention will consider shortly.
