Cincinnati – The National Coalition for the Protection of Children & Families has recently launched a new ministry called the Center for Christ & Culture. The Center will operate under the leadership of its Founding Director, S. Michael Craven.

This new ministry will train Christians to think christianly about cultural issues and equip them to employ intelligent biblically-based reason and gentle persuasion.

“Having pioneered the Cultural Apologetics initiative of the National Coalition, Michael is uniquely gifted to challenge and equip the 21st century Church to assume a Christian approach to cultural engagement,” said Rick Schatz, president and CEO of the National Coalition.

In addition, the Center will be a catalyst for renewal within the Church that seeks to recapture the relevance of Christianity in today's culture by equipping individual Christians with a thoroughly intelligent Christian approach to matters of culture.

“We believe this is the best way to influence the culture to the glory of Jesus Christ,” said Craven.  “While we see cultural renewal as an important activity, the Center will ultimately serve as an instrument of renewal within the Church.”

“It is through the National Coalition’s ongoing effort to influence public policy with relevant and responsible activism, combined with an educated Church equipped to effectively and gently contend for truth in the culture, that we believe we can achieve success and honor Christ,” added Craven.  “The latter part of this strategy will be the work and ministry of the Center for Christ & Culture.”
