Garrick Pang brings with him a diverse background of working as a pastor, missionary, soccer coach, real estate agent and in higher education.
Most recently, Garrick served as Bridge Building Pastor at Overlake Christian Church, a large non-denominational congregation in Redmond, Washington. In his role he oversaw their 10 ethnic language fellowships, headed the church’s soccer ministry, and was actively involved in outreach and evangelism, including their monthly Servant Evangelism outreaches. He was also responsible for the live teaching of their weekly Alpha class.
Before Overlake, Garrick served as Equipping Pastor at Bellevue Christian Church and prior to that served as Pastor of Wellspring Christian Church, a multi-racial church which he helped found in 1994.
Garrick was also on the original team that began Ambassadors in Sport (AIS) in Bolton, England in 1990. AIS is a Christian-based soccer organization that works with youth and children, prison ministry, local leagues, international tours as well as training and equipping leaders for sports ministry. With AIS, Garrick has been to 25 countries leading international teams of players on short-term mission trips. Presently, AIS has grown to have offices in nine countries on six continents.
Garrick is a popular retreat and conference speaker and has taught seminars and workshops on relationships, sports ministry, and multi-racial and multi-cultural outreach.
His hobbies include soccer, golf, karate, acting and playing the saxophone. A self-acknowledged “geek,” he loves to utilize technology in everything he does.
In working with the National Coalition, Garrick especially appreciates the opportunity to interact with churches and educate God’s people to become more culturally relevant. It is also Garrick’s goal to help the body of Christ become more aware of the opportunities that exist for reaching out and touching our world with the grace and love of Jesus Christ, especially as it relates to biblical sexuality.
In 1993, he married his wife Anna and they now reside with their two sons in Bellevue, Washington.
