Study Shows More Kids Exposed to Online Dangers

The National Coalition for the Protection of Children & Families urges parents to monitor their children's internet usage even more closely after a recent University of New Hampshire study found more kids are being exposed to online pornography.

"The National Coalition has been educating parents on the potential dangers of unsupervised use of the internet," said Rick Schatz, president and CEO of the National Coalition. "Unfortunately, many teens now have unrestricted access to the internet not only on their home computer but also in the palm of their hands through wireless devices such as cell phones, personal digital assistants and mobile entertainment systems."

To address this issue, the National Coalition has recently launched a new campaign named I Care...about protecting children which calls women to fervent and faithful prayer as they protect their children from the sexualized messages of today's culture.

"The initiative educates, trains and mobilizes women to rise up and stand against the assault attacking the innocence of our youth," added Schatz. "We are greatly motivated by this campaign because, as this recent study indicated, children are being impacted by pornography and the images are becoming less and less shocking due to desensitization."
